Foliot House and Brooklands form two sister developments in the popular Crownhill district of Plymouth, together transforming redundant office buildings into 33 new apartments. Both were delivered under Permitted Development rights, showcasing Ease Homes’ commitment to re-purposing existing buildings and helping to meet local housing demand through intelligent, sustainable design.

At Foliot House, 21 one- and two-bedroom apartments were created with individually designed kitchens, lift access, video entry systems, and allocated parking. The scheme was deliberately refined from 22 to 21 units to achieve better layouts, generous proportions, and higher levels of natural light. Many purchasers were first-time buyers supported by the Government’s Help to Buy scheme — proof that well-designed homes can also be accessible to local people.

Delivered a little over four years later, Brooklands followed the same design ethos but in a tougher market, creating 12 high-specification apartments with contemporary interiors, EV charging, and cycle provision. Despite the absence of buyer incentives, all apartments sold, underlining the enduring appeal of quality, location, and considered design.

Together the projects reflect Ease Homes’ vision of sustainably delivering attainable, well-crafted homes that revitalise existing spaces and contribute positively to the city’s housing mix.
